Report: FOX & ESPN Pursuing Panthers TE Greg Olsen

The back end of Greg Olsen’s career has been derailed by injuries. He recently said he plans on playing in 2019, but that could change.

According to Andrew Marchand of The NY Post, ESPN and FOX are pursuing the Panthers TE and both have made offers.

Per Marchand, FOX is prepared to put Olsen in the booth, while ESPN’s plan remain unclear. ESPN has an open analyst job after parting ways with Charles Woodson.

CBS met with Olsen but will not pursue him.

Olsen, 33, appeared in nine games last season and caught 27 passes for 291 yards and 4 TDs. He ruptured his plantar fascia in December and was placed on IR.

It’s worth noting that Olsen had tryouts for ESPN’s Monday Night Football and FOX’s Thursday Night Football last season, but eventually signed a 2-year, $17.1M extension with the Panthers.
