LeSean McCoy On Signing With Bucs: Tom Brady. Tampa. Warm Weather. C’mon.

LeSean McCoy’s deal with the Buccaneers became official on Tuesday.

Speaking to local reporters, McCoy said he looked into potentially returning to Philadelphia, but he just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play in the warm weather with Tom Brady.

“I mean come on. I’m in Tampa. Nice weather. And I’m playing with Tom Brady. How do you beat that,” McCoy said.

McCoy spent last season with the Chiefs and was a part of the Super Bowl winning team. He didn’t play much down the stretch, as he was inactive for Weeks 16 and 17, played one snap in the divisional round and was inactive again for the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl.

There were reports during free agency that the Eagles had interest in a reunion but nothing came to fruition.

McCoy also said he wanted to join a team where he could win and where the situation would push him. He thinks the Bucs have a good mixture of leadership, age and youth, and talent.

McCoy joins a running back room with Ronald Jones II, Dare Ogunbowale, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, TJ Logan and Raymond Calais.
