Former NFL Players Who Are Playing In The AAF

The AAF officially got underway on Saturday night and plenty of NFL fans are tuning to check it out. If you’re watching, you might recognize some names.


Trent Richardson – Birmingham Iron: Richardson is probably the most recognizable name. The former Alabama star was the No.3 overall pick by the Browns in 2012. Cleveland shocked the world when they traded Richardson to the Colts for a first-round pick. His career never panned out and he’ hasn’t played in a meaningful NFL game since 2014.

Christian Hackenberg – Memphis Express: Hackenberg was a 2nd round pick by the Jets in 2016. He never took a single NFL snap and was shipped off the Raiders in 2017. After a short preseason stint with the Eagles, he was out of the NFL.

Zach Mettenberger – Memphis Express: The former LSU QB started 10 total games for the Titans in 2014 and 2015. He hasn’t played a meaningful NFL game since. His NFL career includes 12 TD passes and 14 INTs.

Zac Stacy – Memphis Express: You might’ve wasted a high fantasy pick on him in 2014. His 2013 rookie year included over 1000 scrimmage yards. He was out of the league in 2015.

Denard Robinson – Atlanta Legends: Robinson was a QB in Michigan before turning into a RB with the Jaguars. You might remember him for being on the cover of NCAA14.

Brad Wing –  Memphis Express: The former LSU punter had stints with the Steelers and Giants. He wasn’t in the league for the 2018 season.

Aaron Murray – Atlanta Legends: The former Georgia QB was a 5th round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014.

Damontre Moore – San Diego Fleet: The former 3rd round draft choice by the Giants in 2013 ended up bouncing around the NFL. He was with the Dolphins in ’15, Raiders and Seahawks in ’16, Cowboys in ’17 and back to the Raiders for ’18

Matt Asiata – Salt Lake Stallions: The former Vikings RB was the king of short yardage TDs. His career included 18 rushing TDs.

Bishop Sankey – San Diego Fleet: The Titans used a 2nd round pick on Sankey in 2014 and he rushed for 569 yards in his rookie year. Things didn’t pan out from there and he was cut in 2015.

Josh Huff – Arizona Hotshots: The Eagles used a 3rd round pick on him in 2014. An arrest and suspension didn’t help his cause.

Kenneth Farrow – San Antonio Commanders: Farrow got a couple of starts for the Chargers in 2016. This past season, he spent time on the Patriots practice squad.

Stephen Hill – Atlanta Legends: The former 2nd round WR by the Jets in 2012 was out of the league in 2015 after a stint with the Panthers.

Will Hill – Orlando Appollos: Hill was actually a solid player in the NFL, getting 32 starts during his stints with the Giants and Ravens. You might remember him for this Kick-6 vs the Browns.

Younghoe Koo – Atlanta Legends: Koo was the Chargers kicker for the first four weeks in 2017 before getting cutting loose. This video made him go viral.
