When Von Miller went down with a non-contact ankle injury and had to undergo surgery, reports indicated that he will be out for the entire season.
That appears not to be the case.
Miller was on Instagram live on Monday and said he is definitely coming back this season and “should be ready to go in three weeks to a month.”
Miller was spotted at Broncos practice last week without the boot and scooter he used to get around while his ankle healed.
“I was surprised to see him without the boot,” coach Vic Fangio said. “In fact, I went over to him—because I believe it was yesterday that he told me he was going to have to have the boot on until next Wednesday or Thursday. Then when I saw him without the boot on, I asked him about it and he said that they told him he’s making good progress—still a long ways away—and they told him he could go out there without the boot but he still couldn’t do anything obviously.”
The Broncos are coming off an impressive come from behind win over the Chargers on Sunday. They are 3-4 on the season and have the 2-6 Atlanta Falcons coming up this week.
If the winning continues, adding Miller back into the mix would boost the Denver defense for a late-season run.
