Back in March, Rob Gronkowski announced he was retiring from the NFL. But he never officially closed the door on his football career.
He has talked on multiple occasions about possibly returning to football.
Could Tuesday be the day he announces a comeback?
Gronkowski said on his Instagram story that he a big announcement to make Tuesday morning at 9:00am EST.
“I have a big announcement to make. I can’t wait to drop it on all of you. It’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna be wild, it’s gonna be a good time,” Gronkowski said. “Come check out my Instagram page this Tuesday at 9:00am to hear the news. Lets go.”
According to NFL rules, the last day for Gronkowski and the Patriots to agree to grant him an official return to the roster would be Saturday, Nov. 30 — which is the day before the team’s Week 13 game. If he doesn’t return before their Week 13 game against Houston, he can’t return at all
Earlier this month, Gronkowski said that Patriots owner Robert Kraft made it clear to him that he is welcome to return whenever he wants.
Before the season, Gronkowski announced that he will be an advocate for the NFL and sports leagues to open to door to players using CBD products to aid in pain relief. He also joined FOX Sports as an NFL analyst.
The tight end position has been non-existent this season in New England. Patriots tight ends have combined for 18 catches, 242 yards and a TD after 10 weeks.
