It’s Rumor Season: Rumors Swirling Around Nick Foles, Jordan Howard, Nelson Agholor & Others

The end of February and start of March is when rumors start to swirl. Coaches and GMs talk to the media but not everything they say is actually true. Most rumors will come from agents, who change their names to ‘league sources’ at this time of the year.

The rumor mill is just starting, so lets rundown what’s making noise thus far at the Combine:

  • Nick Foles:

Eagles GM Howie Roseman announced Foles won’t get tagged and will be free to sign with any team. According to Tony Pauline, the Giants are” very interested” in Foles and it was a matter as to whether or not he was going to receive the franchise tag. The Jaguars, however, are the early favorites.

  • John Ross:

Multiple reports surfaced Tuesday that the Bengals were open to trading WR John Ross. The Bengals shot down that report today and labeled the trade rumors as “fake news.”

  • Jalen Ramsey:

During the season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned that the Jaguars might consider trading Ramsey in the offseason. The team shot down that rumor immediately and GM Dave Caldwell reiterated today that Ramsey is not available.

  • Jordan Howard:

Jordan Howard was in trade rumors last offseason and he might be in it again this offseason. According to Jason La Canfora, the Bears are shopping Howard at the Combine.

  • Nelson Agholor:

The Eagles could free up $9.3M in cap space by trading or cutting Acholor. According to Jason La Canfora, the Eagles are exploring trade options involving Agholor.

  • Trae Waynes

Waynes is in a similar situation as Agholor. The former first-round pick is set to have a $9M cap hit in 2019. According to Jason La Canfora, the Vikings are exploring trade options involving Waynes.

  • Justin Houston:

In his report, Jason La Canfora also mentioned LB Justin Houston as a potential trade option for the Chiefs. According to earlier reports, the Chiefs don’t want to keep Houston at his current cap hit.

  • Josh Rosen

It would be a major upset if Rosen isn’t the Cardinals QB in 2019. Steve Keim gave a vague answer at the combine today when asked if Rosen is the team’s QB. This situation is still developing. Let’s see what goes down in the Combine before jumping to conclusions.
