Odell Beckham Jr. Says Giants Had Better Offers For Him But Sent Him To Cleveland ‘To Die’

Odell Beckham Jr. wont stop talking about his former team and now he’s spicing it up.

Beckham told Sports Illustrated that the Giants received better offers for him but traded him to Cleveland out of spite.

“This wasn’t no business move,” Beckham told Ben Baskin of SI. “This was personal. They thought they’d send me here [Cleveland] to die.”

The Giants traded Beckham to Cleveland in March for safety Jabrill Peppers and a first and third round pick.

Beckham made it clear in the interview that landing in Cleveland is perfect for him. Beckham believes he’s perfectly matched with Freddie Kitchens, an imaginative schemer, and quarterback Baker Mayfield, who reflects his energy on the field.

“I’ve never had that before,” Beckham says.

The Browns open up their season on September 8 at home vs. the Tennessee Titans. Beckham returns to MetLife Stadium in Week 2 vs the Jets.

The Browns don’t the play the Giants in 2019, but they will in 2020.
