Tonight’s Bears-Packers game will not be called by the regular broadcasting team with Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth and Michelle Tafoya.
Mike Tirico and former NFL coach Tony Dungy will be on the call for the game. Kathryn Tappen, who does sideline reporting for NBC’s Notre Dame coverage, will make her NFL sideline debut.
NBC announced before the season that Michaels, who turned 76 years old earlier this month, will have some “bye weeks” this year to minimize travel.
Tirico was also scheduled to call Thursday Night’s Steelers-Ravens game with Cris Collinsworth but that game has since been pushed to Tuesday due to a COVID outbreak in Baltimore. Tirico and Collinsworth are still scheduled to call that game.
Michaels is expected back for next Sunday Night, which is currently scheduled to be Broncos-Chiefs. The NFL could consider flexing that game out.
