Steelers running back James Conner and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster are being fined by the NFL for wearing their socks too low during their Week 7 game against the Titans.
The NFL cites that the socks “failed to cover your lower leg.” The amount of the fine, circled lower in the post is $5,000. Schuster posted a copy of the fine letter on his Instagram story.
Smith-Schuster later added in a separate post that Conner was fined as well.
This isn’t the first time the NFL has done this. Back in 2013, 49ers running back Frank Gore was fined $10,500 for wearing his socks too low in the NFC Championship Game against Atlanta.
Conner and Smith-Schuster are both in the final year of their rookie contracts and could appeal the fine if they want to go in that direction.
