There are many people who think Rob Gronkowski will return to football at some point this season, but don’t expect an announcement on that any time soon.
Gronkowski has a press conference scheduled for Tuesday morning in New York and plans to unveil his “next chapter” as he “tackles new opportunities.”
The press conference is scheduled for 9:30 am EST.
Gronkowski announced his retirement from the NFL in March, saying “it’s time to move forward and move forward with a big smile.”
The Patriots have struggled to find a replacement for Gronkowski. They signed Benjamin Watson, but he will miss the first four games of the year due to a suspension. Matt LaCosse, Lance Kendricks, Eric Saubert, Stephen Anderson, Ryan Izzo and Andrew Beck are also on the roster.
