Falcons Will Hold Takk McKinley Accountable

Falcons pass-rusher Takkarist McKinley does not want to be in Atlanta and he made it clear in a tweet Wednesday morning.

“These Atlanta Falcons turned down a 2nd round draft pick when I requested to get traded last year. The same Atlanta Falcons turned down a 5th and 6th round draft pick from multiple teams when I requested to get traded this year. I only have 17.5 career sacks.”

McKinley capped the tweet with a bunch of clown emojis.

Falcons head coach Raheem Morris told reporters that McKinley is handling things the wrong way and the team will hold him accountable for the tweet.

“There’s an option to suspend and there’s an option not to play. We’ll talk to Takk and get that thing done,” Morris said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

McKinley has been in trade talks over the last couple years but nothing came to fruition. The Falcons used their first-round pick on him in 2017.

The Falcons didn’t pick up his fifth-year option, meaning he will become a free agent after the season.
