Texans Have Told Teams Only Four Players Are Off Limits

The trade deadline is approaching and the 1-6 Texans could use draft capital.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Texans have told other teams that four players are off limits: QB Deshaun Watson, DE J.J. Watt and OTs Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard. Breer adds it’s probably less likely they move guys they just signed to extensions [Zach Cunningham].

On Wednesday, Aaron Reiss of The Athletic reported that multiple teams including the Packers have inquired about receiver Will Fuller.

Houston has actually gotten calls on their top four wide receivers: Fuller, Brandin Cooks, Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills.

Fuller and Stills are in the final year of their contracts. Cooks has three years left on his deal but none of the money is guaranteed. Cobb is in the first year of a three-year, $27 million contract signed this past offseason.

The Texans have caught a lot of flack for doing bad deals in the past with Bill O’Brien at the helm. Currently, their interim General Manager is executive Jack Easterby.

The NFL trade deadline is at 4 EST on Nov. 3.
