If there will be football in 2020 but without fans, expect there to be fake crowd noises.
Joe Buck of FOX said on SiriusXM Radio that “it’s pretty much a done deal” that FOX and other networks will use fake crowd noise for games played without fans.
“In fact, I know they’ll do it,” Buck added.
Buck also mentioned that they’re looking at ways to add “virtual fans” in the stands for broadcasts, “so when you see a wide shot, it looks like the stadium is jam-packed.”
