Vikings-Seahawks Totaled 11.4M Viewers Last Night, Double The Amount Of Game 6 Of The NBA Finals

The Los Angeles Lakers ended a decade-long drought by defeating the Miami Heat 106-93 to capture its 17th NBA championship on Sunday Night. The game on ABC delivered a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The game totaled a mere 5.60 million viewers, down 57% from the big finish of 2019’s NBA finals, when the Raptors beat the Warriors.

The NFL’s Sunday Night game on NBC between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings had double the amount of viewers. NBC drew an audience of 11.4 million total viewers last night. The game averaged a 3.2 rating among adults 18-49, per Nielsen.

The NFL also went head-to-head with the NBA last Sunday Night, and football nearly finished with triple the amount of viewers.

Coming into Week 4, the NFL had the 15 highest-rated shows through the first three weeks of the season. Even with some numbers down, CBS, FOX. NBC and ESPN were all benefiting from the NFL’s return.

It’s worth noting that due to the nature of live television, the numbers should be considered approximate.
