David Njoku Denies Trade Request, Sort Of.

A report from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com surfaced on Monday afternoon that tight end David Njoku would like to get traded before the Nov. 3 deadline.

This wouldn’t be the first time he’s asked to be be traded. Njoku requested a trade away from the Browns in July, but rescinded that request in early August. The trade request came after Njoku hired a new agent.

Njoku took to Twitter after Cabot’s report and tweeted, “I did not say anything to Mary Kay about a trade request.”

Njoku isn’t denying the report but says he never spoke to her about it.

Cabot in her report did not mention that she spoke with Njoku. She used, “a league source tells clevelanddotcom.”

The former first-round pick has only played in 3 games this season and has 5 receptions for 63 yards and a TD. He spent three weeks on injured reserve after hurting his knee in the opener against Baltimore.
