The Bears plan to have an open competition at quarterback between Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles.
Veteran wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. signed with the Bears in April, and he expects Trubisky to be under center when the season rolls around.
“I believe Trubisky is going to be our starter. I’m willing to play for whoever it is and fight for whoever it is,” Ginnsaid on Good Morning Football.
Trubisky took a step back last season as the Bears finished with a disappointing 8-8 record. The team declined to pick up Trubisky’s fifth-year option and traded a fourth-round pick to Jacksonville for Nick Foles.
The Bears have promised an open competition, but it is possible Ginn has gotten the sense from coaches that it will be Trubisky’s job to lose.
Meanwhile, Ginn is coming off a season with 30 receptions, 421 yards and 2 touchdowns in New Orleans.
