Report: NFL Planning To Have Bears-Lions & Dolphins-Cowboys On Thanksgiving

The NFL’s schedule release usually takes place at the end of April. But there’s always a couple of leaks that come out before that.

For example, earlier this month we learned that the 2019 Thursday Night opener will likely not feature the Super Bowl champs.

As part of its 100th season celebration, the NFL is leaning toward having the Bears host the Packers for next season’s opening kickoff game. The Super Bowl champ Patriots would play on Sunday Night.

According to the Sports Business Journal, the 2019 Thanksgiving afternoon games will likely be Bears-Lions and Dolphins-Cowboys.

Assuming this holds up, this would make it the second straight year that the Lions host the Bears on Thanksgiving. This past season, Chase Daniel started for the Bears and came out with the W over Detroit.
