Report: Eagles @ Vikings “Likely” To Be 2019 Thanksgiving Night Game

Earlier this week, John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reported that the 2019 Thanksgiving afternoon games will likely be Bears-Lions and Dolphins-Cowboys.

He didn’t officially report who would play in the NBC night game but Ourand said during a Sports Illustrated media podcast with Jimmy Traina that Eagles-Vikings is the likely matchup.

“I didn’t actually write about this but I have heard that Minnesota vs. Philadelphia is one that’s in play,” Ourand said. “It’s not dead set, but I’m told that it is pretty likely.”

The Vikings have never hosted a Thanksgiving game. Assuming this holds up, 3 out of the 4 NFC North teams will end up playing on Thanksgiving.

The Vikings and Eagles played each other early last season and the Vikings came out with a 23-21 victory.

The NFL’s schedule release usually takes place at the end of April. Things could obviously change from now until then, so I wouldn’t mark my calendar yet.
