Lisa Olson of The Athletic reports that new Raiders HC Jon Gruden and RB Marshawn Lynch have scheduled a meeting regarding his future with the team.

According to Olson, Lynch is “intrigued” by the idea of playing for Gruden, which signals he might return for the 2018 season.

Lynch, 31, is in the final year of his contract and is owed $6M for the 2018 season.

Lynch rushed for 891 yards and seven touchdowns in his first season with Oakland, but his average of 13.7 rushing attempts per game was his lowest since 2010. He also received a one-game suspension for shoving a referee.

If the Raiders decide to part ways with Lynch, it would free up $6 million in cap space and the team wouldn’t incur any dead cap in the process.
